Dear Stake Presidency,

I have enjoyed participating in the Stake’s family history goal this year.  While I have always had a great interest in family history, I appreciated the extra push to do more. As a goal, my wife and I decided to do more family history work. On a date night, we went to the Family History Center so we could use ancestry.com. That night, I was able to find the name of my 3rd great grandfather with the death record of one of my 2nd great grandfather’s sisters. My 2nd great grandfather came from a large family and other members of my extended family had found the sisters, but never discovered if they had married or had descendants. Finding this death record opened up the way to find a number of families that we did not know about. Since I knew this sister’s married name, I was able to find her in census records and those records indicated that she was living with another sister. I was able to find three different families and the work for those families is in various stages of completion. I have always felt a special spirit when I go to the temple, but it is much more powerful when I am doing work for those to whom I am related.
