I am always delighted to be with the youth. I grew up in a small branch. Most of the Young Women in the branch were less active. I had a Young Women leader who would not give up on any of us. There was one young woman my age – who wasn’t very active – but became so. Her name was Kathy Buckland. We became great friends and are still friends to this day. I know as leaders we can’t do it all but we can love the girls. We may have to prayerfully decide who to focus on. You never know whose life you will change.

Sister Trish VanDeveer (area leader for Church Family Services) reminds us that when we are at the end of our rope that Christ is never at the end of His rope and will always be there for us.

I was reading the story of Amalikiah and how he became king. He became king through deception. He persuaded Lehonti to come down and Lehonti finally gave in. What if when Lehonti was at the end of his rope and about to cave in, he had known his Savior and had turned to him? The story would be so different.
